Newegg Made a Mistake

July 23, 2007 at 11:16 pm (PC Tech)

I have to take back a few nice things I said about Newegg.com earlier. They STILL don’t take my credit card. Probably I was lucky when I ordered the three items (mobo, cpu and vga) but I subsequently tried to get the 2gb memory stick and was barred. Seemingly I failed the verification process because my credit card was issued outside of the US.

How lucky. So now I have to find alternate means of getting the memory from Newegg.com- or find another website.

Way to go Newegg. I was here singing your praises and giving you free press and you just had to make me cry. Shame on you.

Do they use Paypal? Paypal will accept many Non-U.S. credit cards. Then you use Paypal to pay them. They take the money off your card and pay it over to the vendor for you. Give them a try.

Somehow Paypal isn’t working either. You need a confirmed US address. I went as far as to get a US bank Account so that I can confirm my Paypal account in the US. It still isn’t working with my Credit Card. It keeps asking me to enter a new card. Even when I delete my original card information and readd it at the point of the Newegg Order the prompt stays up. At this point I am just too tired. I will have to send a far more costly money-order. Costly due to mailing charges and processing fees.
